Dúbrava is czech non profit organisation . It consists of a folk music (violin, bas violin cymbalo, contrabas, flute..) and dancing group. Our members are mostly students at high schools or universities, the number about 40 persons. They like folk traditions, folk music, habits in our country called White Carpathien. To the ensemble believes folk music of the children.
The town Valašské Klobouky, where we work lies in a very nice forest landsacape with small pastures, flowered meadows. The folkensembleDúbrava present a folk instrumental music, typical wallachian songs and dances with origin names: polka,valčík, černá vlnka, čardáš,stará uherská , šotys etc .
The members wear for their exhibitions old walachian costums , copied the ancient costums of Wallachian people dated from the end of 19th century. We are very temperamently folk group.
Wallachian folk group Dúbrava organise each year regulary in half July an international festival for artists as painters, woodcuttors, sculptors, musicians( folk, country-rock, jazz, blues, ehnic bands), folk dancing groups, theatrical groups. The name of festive : Valašské kumštování (Wallachian Events). The participants can create their works or make concerts in the open air in the town Valašské Klobouky or at the castle. This meeting is completed by competition of the best plum brandy and folk market of the craftsmen. Here can take part Youth and Adults of all Europe. They can learn ancient dances, make their own exhibitions, or create a work for example a picture or a sculpture, take part in music sessions.
